Tyre Types

Overview

Gearbox allows you to add and edit tyre types that appear in the work order drop down. There are two options when it comes to adding Tyre Types, by manually enter it through Gearbox settings or using our 'On the Fly' settings to add them directly from the Tyre work order screen. 


Adding and editing Tyre Types through Settings

1. To add or edit Tyre Types, click on your User Icon (1) then click Settings (2)

2. On the left-hand side scroll down and click on Tyre Types (3)

3. From this screen you can Add New Type (4), Merge (5) tyre types that might be entered in more than once, edit existing tyre types (6) or Delete (7)

4. Once you have clicked Add New Tyre Type (4) you will be taken to a new screen where you can enter the Tyre Type (8), once you have entered your Tyre Type, click Save (9)

Changing On the fly Permissions

If the setting TYRE_TYPE_ADD_ON_THE_FLY is not equal to 512 in settings then you will be able to add repairers on the fly. The below list shows the various permissions that can assigned to TYRE_TYPE_ADD_ON_THE_FLY in settings:

0 = All users can add repair types on the fly

4 = Contractors and above users can enter repair types on the fly

32 = Standard and above users can enter repair types on the fly

128 = Managers and above users can enter repair types on the fly

256 = Only Administrators can enter repair types on the fly

512 = No users can enter repair types on the fly



1. To check if TYRE_TYPE_ADD_ON_THE_FLY is enabled click on your User Icon (1) then click Settings (2)

2. Click on System Parameters (3), search On the Fly (4) look for TYRE_TYPE_ADD_ON_THE_FLY (5) make sure the Value (6) is less than 512

3. Adding a Tyre Type on the fly occurs on the Tyres screen. On your Maintenance Dashboard click Tyres (7)

4. Click on Add New (8)

5. In the Vehicle box select the vehicle to the Tyre (9), otherwise you will not be able to create a new Tyre type on the fly, click the Add Item (10)

6. Under the Tyre Type header, start typing in the Tyre Type (11), if the Tyre Type does not currently exist the system will add “(new)” (11) next to the item you type in, make sure to click on the item in the drop down otherwise when your selection changes it will be removed

Once you have clicked Create Tyre Item, the system will also add the Tyre Type to the Tyre Type register to be available for future use.
