Black Box Integration

Overview 

Gearbox integrates with Black Box via API each night to collect odometer and hourmeter readings. These are used in Gearbox for calculating Services Due and running costs per hour / kilometre. Automatic readings from telematics are preferred over manually entered readings as they are not prone to user error. Additionally, the API feed from Black Box ensures regular readings are captured. 

The Black Box Integration allows gearbox to find a match using the asset name the Black Box and the Rego and fleet number. Ensure that these are matching in both systems otherwise the integration won't work. 

Enabling Black Box Integration

1. Click on your User Icon (1) then click on Settings (2)

2. On the left-hand side of the screen scroll down and click on Integrations (3)

3. Scroll down to Black Box, paste the API key provided to you from Black Box into the API key field, tick the box to enable the integration, click Get Readings and Save
